About Me.
Hi! I'm Madeline, lifestyle host and producer of Soda City Living on WIS-TV in Columbia, SC.

After two years as a news reporter, producer, and anchor, I was thrilled to learn that a new lifestyle show would be launching. It was the perfect opportunity for me to show people what I'd been saying for seven years: There's lots to do in the Midlands. You just have to dig a little to find the best spots!

My journey in television started late in my college career as an undergraduate biology major who'd decided to dump her dreams of going to dental school. I was working at a dental office in Lexington at the time and loved it. I just couldn't make myself study for the dental admissions test and took that as a sign that I needed to forge a different path.
Thankfully, USC had recently launched an accelerated master of mass communications program that allowed me to slide in as I began my senior year of my biology degree. I got the feeling that most people in the J School had never had more than one class with a STEM major. I felt slightly (let's be honest, completely) out of place.

However, through journalism, I've found myself, many of my best friends, my soulmate, and a passion for lifting up marginalized communities and through storytelling and showcasing what the Midlands has to offer.

It's been a wild ride. I never imagined I'd launch my own show. Every day presents new challenges, but I'm happy and grateful for where I ended up after what felt like a roller coaster that lasted for about five years.

In my free time, I love exploring beautiful Columbia and its surrounding areas, hanging out with my two cats, and showing everyone why they should love where they live!
